Six-day Kabir Mahotsav begins today in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur: Sant Kabir Nagar is set to host the grand Kabir Mahotsav from January 28 to February 3, 2025. The festival will be inaugurated by Basti division commissioner Akhilesh Singh. During the six-day event, a vibrant array of cultural programs will unfold, celebrating both tradition and contemporary art.The inaugural day will feature a health and yoga dance performance by Vedic Gurukul Academy, followed by an event by Mahant Vichar Das from 3:30pm to 6pm. A special laser show in the evening will set the stage for a performance by the Kabir Café later at night. On the second day, awareness programs on AIDS and COVID-19 will be held alongside demonstrations by the fire brigade, scout guides, and NCC. A handloom exhibition will also be organised. The day will include soulful Sufi music and dance by Suraj Karwa Foundation, a Kabir discourse by Mahant Vichar Das, folk singing by Rakesh Upadhyay, and a Punjabi Night by Kaka and Team.The festival will also feature mushairas, a Haryanvi Night with Renuka Panwar, and a Bollywood Night with Kanika Kapoor. The concluding day will showcase a Bhojpuri Night by Anu Choreographer, offering a perfect blend of cultural heritage and modern artistry.
