Vijayawada: The state govt on Thursday ruled out any irregularities in the DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process, stating that the entire selection was conducted in a transparent manner with strict adherence to rules. School education secretary Kona Sasidhar said there was no possibility of question paper leakage or data manipulation as the recruitment process was fully digitised with multiple security checks.
Addressing the media along with special chief secretary (sports) Ajay Jain and Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) vice-chairman and managing director Bharani, Sasidhar said the govt would issue another notification for the mega DSC in Oct and conduct examinations in Dec 2026 as per the job calendar. He asked the candidates to prepare for the next examination to get into govt service.
Responding to doubts raised by candidates and allegations circulating on social media regarding horizontal reservations, sports quota and recruitment procedures, Sasidhar said there was no truth in such claims. He said the delay in filling around 6,100 teacher posts notified in 2024 was due to the need to ensure legal clarity in implementing horizontal reservations following supreme court and high court judgments and to coordinate the TET-DSC process without causing confusion among candidates.
Sasidhar said only authorised officials had access to the system and only two permanent employees were given data upload permissions. He said that passwords were changed regularly and safeguards were in place to prevent unauthorised access, ruling out the possibility of paper leaks or data leaks. He said the merit list was prepared as per norms, with 20% weightage given to TET marks and 80% to DSC marks. TET marks were already made available on the official website, he added.
Sasidhar clarified that receiving a certificate verification call letter does not mean final selection. The final selection would be based on reservation rules, verification of certificates and eligibility criteria. If any candidate is found ineligible during verification, the next eligible candidate would get an opportunity. Ajay Jain explained the sports quota selection process, stating that only achievements in recognised competitions such as national games, national championships, All India Inter-University competitions, South Zone Inter-University events, state championships and international competitions were considered under the present rules.
Ajay Jain said participation in inter-collegiate competitions was not considered for the current DSC recruitment. He said 382 candidates were part of the DSC-2025 sports quota selection, including 22 gold medal winners, 40 silver medal winners, 43 bronze medal winners and 275 participants in national and state-level competitions. He explained that every sports certificate was verified through scrutiny committees, sports associations, universities and official records before finalising eligibility.
