Man gets life term in 2013 murder case in ASR dist

Visakhapatnam: A court in Chodavaram of Anakapalle district sentenced one Killo Dayatri (50) to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of murdering a woman in Jodiguda village in Dumbriguda mandal of ASR districtg in Feb 2013. The convict was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 10,000.According to ASR district police, Dayatri is a resident of Jodiguda village. He had entrusted his fishtail palm tree to one Killo Munkund who was responsible for collecting toddy (palm wine) from the tree and selling it. Generally, Dayatri collected money from Mukund on a daily basis. On Feb 14, 2013, the duo had a dispute over some issue. Later, Dayatri went to Mukund's house, picked a fight with him and beat him. When Mukund's wife Killo Lakshmi tried to stop the fight, he hit her of the head with an iron rod. With severe head injury, the woman was shifted to KG Hospital in Vizag city, where she passed away while undergoing treatment on Feb 20, 2013.Based on the complaint, the ASR district police registered a murder case against Dayatri .
