TIRUPATI: A 28-year-old woman was killed by her husband who suspected her fidelity. The incident took place on Sunday at V Kota mandal in Chittoor district.
The accused was identified as Srinivas (29) who hails from Dasarlapalli village. According to V Kota police, Srinivas suspected his
wife
Vasanthamma (28) of having several romantic affairs. The couple had several fights in past six months and even intervention from village elders couldn’t stop them. The two were married for eight years and have two children. While Srinivas worked as a tractor driver, Vasanthamma worked as a construction labourer.
During a fight on Saturday night, Srinivas hit his wife on the head with a crowbar and she died on the spot.
The accused later went to V Kota police station and surrendered himself.
A case has been registered and the body was shifted for postmortem.
