Vijayawada: A delegation of the Tamil Nadu state government met
Minister for municipal Administration S P Velumani and minister for fisheries D Jayakumar and principal secretary Dr K Manivasan met the chief minister and submitted a representation seeking drinking water for Chennai.
The ministers told the chief minister that over 90 lakh people in Chennai were facing acute shortage of drinking water. They also handed over a formal request by Tamil Naidu chief minister E K Palanisami seeking drinking water supply to Chennai from Andhra Pradesh.
The chief minister responded positively and directed the AP officials to release drinking water without delay. Make sure some water is given to Tamil Nadu to address the Chennai drinking water crisis,” Jaganmohan Reddy told the officials.
The Tamil Nadu delegation thanked the chief minister for his instant positive response. “People of Chennai, who are facing major drinking water crisis, would remember your gesture,” minister Velumani told the chief minister.
