1,500 GVMC officials join flood relief work in Vij

Visakhapatnam: Nearly 1,500 officials and sanitation staff deputed by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) have accelerated relief operations in the flood-affected areas of Vijayawada. GVMC commissioner Dr. P. Sampath Kumar said that the GVMC team is working to assist the public in flood-hit zones, particularly in Vijayawada's 64th ward, by cleaning up affected areas and distributing essential supplies."State roads and buildings minister, B.C. Janardhan Reddy, personally inspected the distribution of food packets and drinking water, ensuring relief efforts were conducted efficiently. Sanitation work has been undertaken in key areas like Kundavari Kandrika, N.S.C. Bose Nagar, B.V. Subba Reddy School area, Prajashakti Nagar, Vidyasagar NGOs colony, and MIG UDA colony. The GVMC team also distributed food and water to residents stranded by the floodwaters,” said the GVMC commissioner.“GVMC personnel are engaged in relief and sanitation activities across multiple wards, from the 20th to 64th ward. Commissioner and director of child welfare department, Venugopal Reddy, also participated,” Sampath Kumar added..

ITC donates food packets for flood relief

In response to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's appeal, ITC Agro Business Division has donated food packets for flood victims in Vijayawada. The company dispatched 2000 food packets along with sambar, biscuits, noodles, matchboxes, and juices. ITC will continue assessing the needs and supplying relief materials as required.

Gujarat: Authorities launch clean-up drive and aid distribution in flood-hit areas

Following severe floods in Gujarat, the state government has launched relief efforts.
