VISAKHAPATNAM: AP Junior Doctors Association and senior resident doctors association warned the

government

that they would boycott all duties in medical colleges across the state if the government did not solve their issues by May 27. They wrote a letter to the

Director of Medical Education

(

DME

) to consider their issues,. otherwise they would commence their action plan to boycott duties.

The

Judas

requested that all final year exam going postgraduates in the state including private and government colleges as senior residents and the circular should be released with immediate effect.


Judas and senior residents wrote a letter to DME on Monday. Judas said that final year postgraduates of few colleges were already posted in covid duties and few other colleges are not utilising their PG students services. They also demanded a hike in

stipend

to Rs. 80,000 which was pending for the past 17 months.

Even senior resident doctors association too demanded the DME to hike in stipend to Rs. 90,000 effective from January 2020 or the beginning of the tenure of present senior batch from September 2020. They said Telangana state is paying Rs. 70,000 since 2018 and their next pay revision was 15%. They also demanded for the abolition of

TDS

on senior stipends. The government should show some courtesy and respect to all the frontline doctors working in this pandemic by risking lives. So it should provide financial incentives.
