NEW DELHI: Four women were injured after being hit by a bus on the Tadepalli highway on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in front of Jayabheri Apartments when a Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus, traveling from Vijayawada to Guntur, struck the women as they were crossing the highway.
Andhra Pradesh minister for BC, EWS Welfare, Handlooms, and Textiles, S Savitha, was passing by the area when she saw the injured women. Instead of waiting for an ambulance, the minister reportedly transported the women to Mangalagiri NRI Hospital in her own vehicle.
"One of the women is in critical condition," doctors reported.
Minister Savitha later visited the hospital to check on the injured and instructed doctors to provide them with the best possible care.
The accident reportedly caused a traffic jam for several kilometers on the Tadepalli highway.
