The arrested persons were identified as A Srinivasa Rao, R Chandra Sekhar, K Dharma Rao, and K Srinivasa Rao, all natives of Srikakulam district, along with Md Iqbal, Rajaq Khan, Md Aamir, and Niranjan Kumar Paswan from Bihar.Superintendent of Police of Srikakulam district, KV Maheswara Reddy, said a group of people hired a supari gang to eliminate B Nagaraju, a native of Chinnabadam village of Palasa mandal in the district, over claims of dominance in the village.

He appreciated the timely action of the police in averting a major and sensational incident in the district.Nagaraju is the leader of one group in Chinnabadam village, while Dharma Rao leads another group.

There are differences between them over village supremacy and other issues such as real estate business and land disputes. Believing that Nagaraju would emerge as a powerful leader in the village, Dharma Rao and his henchmen decided to eliminate Nagaraju to establish their supremacy.
