VISAKHAPATNAM: Rajya Sabha MP V Vijayasai Reddy on Saturday said the AP government will not accept the proposal of Korean steel giant

to set up its plant in Visakhapatnam. He further said that the government is against the move to privatise Vizag Steel Plant and the fight against the proposed disinvestment would continue till the Union government withdraws its decision. The state will also continue to seek captive mines for VSP, besides conversion of debts into equity, he added.


YSRC leader, who undertook a 25km-long padayatra to oppose privatisation proposal of public sector unit, addressed a public meeting near the entrance of steel plant at Kurmannapalem after the conclusion of his march, which was attended by thousands of people. “We will be at forefront in fighting against privatisation of VSP,” he said.
