, on the occasion of the 92nd Founders Day celebrations, here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, professor Nageswara Rao said the university has completed 92 years of fruitful service in promoting and expanding higher education in the country.
He said
Andhra University
has made a mark globally with its alumni holding important positions and contributing to the economic, social, cultural and political development in the world.
Recalling the service rendered to the university by intellectual giants of the past, the vice-chancellor said, “While great vice-chancellors like Sir CR Reddy and Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan laid strong academic and research foundations, internationally reputed scientists like CV Raman, Suri Bhagavantham, VK RV Rao, LR Rao, C Mahadevan, Hiren Mukherjee, S Venkatraman, Srinivasa Iyengar and many other intellectuals contributed their academic excellence to the growth of this university.”
