Court rejects bail plea of accused in Tahsildar’s murder

VISAKHAPATNAM: The judge of district court in Vizag, Alapati Giridhar rejected the bail petition field by accused Murari Subramanya Ganga Rao (41), who was arrested in the sensational murder of Tahsildar Sanapala Ramanayya (40) near Komamdi in Vizag city.

It may be recalled that Ramanayya, who was Tahsildar of Bondapalli in Vizianagaram district was murdered near his residence at Kommadi locality under PM Palem police station limits in Vizag city on Feb 2 night. The accused Ganga Rao was arrested by Vizag city police in Chennai of Tamil Nadu on Feb 5. The victim Ramanayya worked as Tahsildar for Visakhapatnam Rural in Vizag city and he was recently transferred to as Tahsildar of Bondapalli in Vizianagaram district a few days before the brutal incident.

Public Prosecutor Kandregula Jagadheswara Rao said that prosecution vehemently opposed the bail petition, pointing out the accused’s active role as the conspirator in the case. The court noted the seriousness of the charges against the accused. The accused’s bail application was ultimately rejected by the court, he added.
