‘Govt to fill 600 GCC vacancies soon’

Visakhapatnam: The government plans to fill up around 600 vacancies in the Girijan Cooperative Corporation (GCC) soon, deputy CM and tribal welfare minister Peedika Rajanna Dora has said. GCC has become a brand name due to its good quality, trust, and organic products, he said, adding that people can buy the products online in the coming days.
GCC recently launched new products such as glycerine soap of three varieties, dish wash, hand wash, hair oil and floor cleaner. “We have plans to place GCC products in tourist places not only in AP and Telangana but also in other states. Araku coffee has now become famous outside India. We are planning for future development of GCC,” Dora said. There were around 2,500 employees in GCC in undivided AP. The number has now reduced to 1,000 after bifurcation of the state. Out of this, only 438 are working now and around 600 jobs are vacant as there has been no recruitment in the past one decade. The vacancies would be filled in phases, the minister said.
