Heavy rains in coastal AP till Aug 31

Visakhapatnam: A fresh low pressure area (LPA) is likely to form over the east central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal on August 29. The system is likely to move west-northwestwards, close to south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts, during the subsequent two days. Meanwhile, lower tropospheric westerly winds prevail over AP and Yanam.According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), isolated parts of the north coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP) and Yanam are likely to experience heavy rainfall activities on August 29 and heavy to very heavy rainfall activities on August 30 and 31. The IMD also forecast that parts of the south coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP) are likely to experience heavy rainfall activities on August 30 and 31.Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning is likely at isolated places over NCAP, SCAP, Yanam and Rayalaseema regions from August 29 to 31. Strong surface winds with speed of 30 to 40 kmph are also likely at isolated places over coastal AP, Yanam and Rayalaseema regions between August 28 and 31.

Isolated heavy rainfall alert for state till Monday

The IMD has announced a heavy rainfall warning for Kerala until Monday owing to a low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea. Yellow alerts are issued for Kannur, Kasaragod, and Kozhikode districts. Fishermen are advised to stay off the sea due to predicted stormy conditions, and port warnings are issued for several districts.

IMD warns of isolated heavy rains till Wed

The India Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Kerala till Wednesday, with thunderstorms and winds up to 40 kmph expected on Sunday. Yellow alerts are in place for Kannur and Kasaragod districts, and heavy rain is predicted in Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod. Squally winds and ocean current watches are also in effect.

Yellow alert for Goa till Aug 27 amid heavy rainfall and winds

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Goa until Aug 27 due to expected heavy rainfall and strong winds. Wind speeds may reach up to 50kmph. The advisory includes South Maharashtra and coastal regions, advising fishermen to avoid the sea. The state saw increased rainfall and a temperature drop recently.
