Tourists flock to tourist places in Alluri district: Continuous holidays also a reason

VISAKHAPATNAM: Continuous holidays along with the Sunday and Christmas on Monday witnessed a heavy flow of tourists to Araku, Paderu, Lammasingi and other tourist spots. Right from the Lammasingi to Chintapalli, Paderu, Arakui and Borracaves.

As the temperatures dip in the tribal pockets, including single digit Celsius in a few pockets, experiencing shivering cold conditions. Tourists are flocking to Cheruvulavenam which is called Meghalakonda (clouds hill) close to Lammasingi, Vanjangi konda in Paderu, Modaapalli coffee plantation, Kottapalli reservoir, Tajangi, Giri Grama Darsini, Madagada hills Iin Araku area.

Temperatures dipped in G Madugula, Chintapalli, GK Veedhi, Munchingput, Hukumpet, Araku, Anantagirri, and other mandals. People are forced to switch on the headlights of their vehicles as the poor visibility and darkness occupy the areas. All the above mandals have been registering below 14 degree Celsius.

All hotels and lodges in Araku, Pader, and other tourist spots were jam-packed with large numbers of tourists. “We are coming to Lammasingi and Araku tourist places every year in December from Hyderabad. This time, the flow of tourists increased as the winter chill attracted them. But these places are lacking facilities,” one of the tourists from Hyderabad K Anil Kumar said.

Lammasingi has become a campfire competition ground as campfires at every place in the night. Even the tent accommodation provided by the private persons too filled in various tourist spots. Around 4000 people visited the Kottapalli waterfalls and also Borra caves apart from other tourist spots.
