beach here by seeking help from the Sports Authority of India (SAI), principal secretary to the department of youth advancement (sports and youth affairs) K Ramgopal announced after a visit to the facility on Friday.

He told the District Sports Authority’s chief coach N Surya Rao to prepare a detailed report on the facilities needed at the centre after discussing with him, the CEO of DSA B Sreenivasa Rao and tribal sports officer of SAAP L Devadanam. Surya Rao informed TOI that the senior official felt that a beautiful facility like the one at Rushikonda, which hosted national yachting championships in the past and several other major meets, could not remain idle. “As of now there are five kayaking and five canoeing boats at the facility but they are not being used due to absence of an instructor.” tnn
