VISAKHAPATNAM: BJP national president JP Nadda on Sunday declared that the BJP has become the largest political party in the world, with "over 14 crore members and two crore active members." He was speaking at the BJP's Saradhyam meeting in Visakhapatnam, attended by thousands of party leaders and activists.
Highlighting major projects sanctioned for the state, Nadda said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds a deep affection for Andhra Pradesh and is firmly committed to its progress. In turn, the people of the state hold him close to their hearts. The Union govt is extending full support for the state's capital development, providing Rs 15,000 crore for the development of Amaravati, along with an additional Rs 11,000 crore loan sanctioned through HUDCO for Amaravati."
Nadda said, "We have 240 MPs in the Lok Sabha and more than 1,500 MLAs and 170 MLCs across India. We have NDA govts in nearly 20 states. The BJP holds the distinction of having the highest number of elected public representatives of any political party in the world."
AP in growth phase under NDA: Nadda Criticising the previous YSRCP govt, he stated, "The five-year term from 2019 to 2024 under YSRCP govt in Andhra Pradesh was marked by non-performance, poor governance, rampant corruption, and administrative chaos." He added, "Under the present NDA govt, Andhra Pradesh has entered a period of significant growth and development."
" Today, we are on course to become the third-largest economy in the world. India is witnessing rapid progress across multiple sectors. Defence exports have risen sevenfold, and mobile phone manufacturing has surpassed 9.2 million units. Several flagship schemes have enabled comprehensive development through investments totalling billions of rupees."
He urged party workers to amplify the NDA's development message: "We remain committed to the welfare of the people. Winning the trust and hearts of the people of AP is essential. It is through the tireless efforts of crores of party workers that the BJP has been able to drive the development of the nation."
