SEBA grading system explained
The Secondary Education Board of Assam follows a structured grading system to assess student performance. The grading scale ranges from A1, the highest grade, to F, the lowest. Students scoring below 30 marks will be considered unsuccessful. The grading pattern is as follows:
- 91–100 marks: A1
- 81–90 marks: A2
- 71–80 marks: B1
- 61–70 marks: B2
- 51–60 marks: C1
- 41–50 marks: C2
- 30–40 marks: D
- Below 30 marks: F (Fail)
What happens after the result?
The HSLC result plays an important role in shaping students’ academic paths. Those who pass will move on to Class 11 and choose their preferred stream, including science, commerce, or arts. Students who fail in one or more subjects will have the option to appear for compartment examinations. This gives them a second chance to improve their scores and continue their studies without losing an academic year.
