'No Nasha Nation’ campaign rallies Gurugram residents against substance abuse
A city-wide awareness campaign promoting a drug-free society was organised in Gurugram by DAV Public School, sector 14, as part of the ‘No Nasha Nation’ initiative, with a series of community-centric activities aimed at sensitising residents about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
As part of the programme, 100 Kundiya Hawans were conducted recently at key locations including Bhim Nagar and sector 14. The initiative sought to encourage healthy living, self-discipline and moral responsibility through traditional practices combined with grassroots outreach.
Students played an active role in the campaign by staging nukkad nataks and poetry recitations, delivering strong messages against drug abuse. Informative sessions highlighted the physical, mental and social consequences of substance dependency, while the hawans created a reflective atmosphere, prompting participants to pledge to stay away from intoxicants.
The programme was attended by Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma, Mayor Rajrani Malhotra and Tilak Raj Malhotra as chief guests. Municipal councillor Anoop Singh, Sector-14 SHO Chandrabhan, RWA representatives, along with teachers, parents and local residents, were also present.
Organisers said the initiative received an encouraging public response and reinforced efforts to address substance abuse through community engagement and student participation.Ready to navigate global policies? Secure your overseas future. Get expert guidance now!
