Now, the card is up for auction with bidding already above $6.3 million. “If you’re into something and you’re passionate about it, there’s a market for it, and you can build around it as long as you lean into it,” Paul told Fortune.

He encourages young people to explore nontraditional avenues—collectibles, art, or even fossils—where passion can intersect with potential financial opportunity, while keeping in mind the importance of calculated risk.

Paul’s professional life also underlines the strength of teamwork. Whether it is his collaborations with his relatives and other creatives or his associations with auctioneer Ken Goldin, he proves that the right collaborations can speed up success. Goldin echoed this sentiment, telling Fortune, “It’s not about how much money you’re going to make in the career. It’s about, am I going to enjoy it? Am I challenged? Am I looking forward to it?”
