Jammu, Aug 30: In its quest to engage the local youth, Army kick started a five weeks Pre Recruitment Training capsule in Batote town of Ramban district.
PRO Defence Udhampur said, "A total of 47 young boys hailing from 11 different villages have enlisted for the scheduled Pre Recruitment Training held at Batote of Ramban district.
"During this five week long programme all candidates would be imparted with physical training along with organising classes aimed towards preparing them for written tests as well as conducting medical screening as a run-up for the upcoming Agniveer selection," Defence spokesperson said.
He added that the pre-recruitment training will go a long way in empowering the youth from remote areas to fight against the menace of unemployment by successfully joining the Indian Army after necessary screening during the conduct of forthcoming recruitment rallies.
"All necessary assistance was provided by local civil administration and Police for conduct of the event which was appreciated by Awam and the local populace," Defence spokesperson from Udhampur added.
