AICTE QIP PG certificate programmes 2026: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme in Emerging Areas to support the academic development of faculty members from core engineering disciplines. The initiative is designed to help teachers acquire knowledge and skills in emerging technologies and strengthen the quality of technical education delivered to students across the country.
The programme seeks to prepare faculty members to teach industry-relevant subjects by providing exposure to rapidly evolving technological domains. Conducted in a hybrid mode over six months, the programmes carry 18 credits and are offered through institutions of national importance, including IISc, IITs, NITs and IIITs. For the July–December 2026 session, a total of 41 programmes are available in computational and management segments.
Focus on emerging technologiesAnnouncing the programme, AICTE Chairman Prof. Yogesh Singh said the initiative reflects the council’s commitment to continuously upgrading faculty capabilities in technical education. He noted that technologies such as AI, Machine Learning and Quantum Computing are reshaping industries and that several emerging technologies will influence future developments across sectors.
According to him, India’s requirement for skilled engineers, researchers and innovators can be met through quality technical education supported by well-trained teachers. He stated that equipping faculty members with contemporary knowledge and industry exposure would help prepare students for innovation, research and global opportunities.
Opportunity for collaborative learningAICTE Member Secretary Prof. Shyama Rath said the QIP PG Certificate Programme would provide faculty members with opportunities to acquire new skills and learn from distinguished academicians and peers from different institutions. She said such interactions would enhance understanding of emerging technologies and contribute to the overall development of students.
She also called upon AICTE-approved institutions to encourage eligible faculty members to participate in the programme and benefit from the academic and professional learning opportunities it offers.
