CBSE Class 12 result 2026 date: The Central Board of Secondary Education is expected to declare the CBSE Class 12 result 2026 by the end of April. The evaluation process for answer sheets has been conducted through an on-screen marking system, ensuring uniformity and timely processing of marks.

Students who appeared for the examinations will be able to access their results online through the official portals. The board has also made arrangements for alternative methods such as DigiLocker, SMS, and the UMANG app to enable wider access to the results.

Result date and exam overview
The CBSE Class 12 examinations for 2026 were conducted from 17-Feb-2026 to 10-Apr-2026. As per the available information, the result is likely to be announced by April 30, 2026. The board is also expected to release compartment results later in August 2026.

The results published online will be provisional in nature. Students will be required to collect their original mark sheets from their respective schools after the declaration.

Passing criteria and evaluation details
To be declared successful in the CBSE Class 12 examinations, students must secure a minimum of 33 per cent marks in both theory and practical components. The scorecard will include details such as the student’s name, roll number, parents’ names, date of birth, subject-wise marks, total score, grade, and qualifying status.

The board has maintained its practice of not releasing a toppers’ list in order to avoid unhealthy competition among students.

Previous years’ result statistics
CBSE will release detailed statistics along with the 2026 results. In the previous year, 16,92,794 students appeared for the examination, recording an overall pass percentage of 88.39 per cent. Among them, boys registered a pass percentage of 85.70 per cent, while girls recorded 91.64 per cent.

In 2024, the overall pass percentage stood at 87.98 per cent, with girls again outperforming boys. A similar trend was observed in 2023, where the overall pass percentage was 87.33 per cent.

The highest pass percentage in recent years was recorded in 2021 at 99.37 per cent. In contrast, earlier years such as 2017 saw a lower overall pass percentage of 73.96 per cent. Data from 2015 to 2020 indicates a gradual fluctuation in pass percentages, ranging between 82 per cent and 88.78 per cent.

Student participation and supplementary exams
In 2026, approximately 10.2 lakh boys and 8.3 lakh girls appeared for the Class 12 board examinations. Students who are unable to clear one or more subjects will have the option to appear for compartment examinations.

The CBSE Class 12 compartment exams are scheduled to be conducted in July 2026 in pen-and-paper mode. The results for these examinations are expected to be released in the first week of August 2026. The supplementary result will include key details such as marks obtained, grades, and qualifying status.
