CBSE verification and re-evaluation portal to go live "soon": Here's what students must know
Students waiting to apply for verification of marks and re-evaluation of their CBSE Class 12 results continued to face uncertainty on Monday as the board's post-result portal remained inactive despite being scheduled to go live on June 1.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had earlier announced that the verification, photocopy of answer sheets, and re-evaluation process would begin on June 1 after an earlier postponement. However, students attempting to access the service found that the portal had not been activated.
Amid growing queries from students and parents, CBSE issued an update through its official X handle, stating: "Verification and re-evaluation portal will go live soon. Official announcement will follow."
The update indicates that the board is still working on the activation of the portal and that students will have to wait a little longer before submitting their applications. A CBSE official also confirmed the development, telling ANI that the portal "will start soon."
The latest delay comes after CBSE had already pushed back the launch of post-result activities from May 29 to June 1. At the time, the board had said additional time was needed to strengthen website infrastructure and ensure a smoother experience for students.
The board had maintained that the revised schedule was aimed at improving transparency and preventing disruptions during the application process.
Thousands of Class 12 students are waiting for the verification and re-evaluation process to begin. The post-result mechanism allows candidates to apply for verification of marks, obtain photocopies of evaluated answer books, and request re-evaluation of specific answers after reviewing their answer scripts.
The process has drawn significant interest this year. Earlier, CBSE reportedly received more than four lakh applications from students seeking access to scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets.
The delay also comes against the backdrop of complaints raised during the answer-sheet access process. A few students were also seen having problems in receiving scanned versions of their answer sheets, while some students pointed out issues related to payments and technology.
These issues came up during the deliberations around CBSE's latest On-Screen Marking (OSM) system which is to be used for evaluating Class 12 students. It was only recently that CBSE had taken help from professionals at institutions like IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur.
For now, students are advised to keep checking CBSE's official updates. The board has indicated that the verification and re-evaluation portal will become operational soon and that a formal announcement will be issued once the service is activated.
Until then, candidates seeking assistance may contact the CBSE Tele-Counselling Helpline or reach out to the board through its designated result support channels.
