HSSC recruitment 2026: Stenographer and typist vacancies increased, 193 new posts added
The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has announced an increase in the number of vacancies under Advt. No. 3/2026 dated January 9, 2026. The revision comes after fresh requisitions were received from concerned departments. The update affects posts under Group No. 2 and Group No. 3. Candidates preparing for stenography-related posts should take note of the revised vacancy numbers. The commission has also postponed the opening date of the online application portal due to the increase in posts. The updated notification has been issued with the approval of the competent authority.

Moreover, the Directorate of State Audit, Haryana, through requisition No. 2895, has increased the number of Steno Typist (Both Language) posts under Group No. 3. The vacancies have gone up from 696 to 702. A total of six additional posts have been included in this category.
A significant rise has been announced in the number of Junior Scale Stenographer (Both Language) posts under Group No. 3. As per requisition No. 1178 from Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited and requisition No. 2897 from the Directorate of State Audit, Haryana, the vacancies have increased from 173 to 260. This adds 87 more posts to the earlier count.
The commission has clarified that department preferences will be collected only from candidates who qualify the stenography skill test. This means candidates must first clear the skill test to be considered for department allocation.
Due to the increase in vacancies, the online application portal will now open on February 6, 2026. Earlier, it was scheduled to open on February 2, 2026. Candidates are advised to check the official website for further updates and complete their applications within the given timeline.

HSSC vacancies increased for Steno Typist
As per requisition No. 1370 received from the Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Haryana, the number of posts for Steno Typist (English) under Group No. 2 has been increased. Earlier, 486 posts were advertised. The revised number of vacancies is now 586. This means 100 additional posts have been added under this category.Major increase in Junior Scale Stenographer posts
