ICSE, ISC Result 2026: How to apply for re-evaluation, improvement exam; fees, dates and steps explained
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has declared the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) results 2026. The scorecards are now available across official platforms.
In total, around 3.6 lakh students appeared for the examinations. Of these, 2,58,721 candidates from 2,957 schools took the ICSE exams, while 1,03,316 students from 1,553 schools appeared for the ISC (Class 12) exams.
After the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) results, students who feel their marks do not reflect their performance have the option to apply for re-checking and re-evaluation.
Re-evaluation process allows a detailed review of answer scripts beyond basic totalling checks. However, students must first apply for a recheck before moving to re-evaluation, as per CISCE guidelines.
Students can apply for re-check through the official CISCE website by using the “Public Services” link. They need to log in to the CISCE Service Portal using their registered email ID and password. New users must complete registration before applying.
Schools can also submit applications through the CAREERS portal using the principal’s login credentials.
The recheck application process is open from May 1 to May 4, 2026. Recheck results are expected in the first week of June.
The re-evaluation window opens only after recheck results are declared and remains active for just three days. No applications will be accepted after the deadline.
Once these are declared, students can apply for re-evaluation within a three-day window.
The board has fixed the re-evaluation fee at Rs 1,500 per subject for both ICSE and ISC candidates. This fee is non-refundable.
The final re-evaluation results are likely to be announced within three weeks of application, tentatively by late June or early July.
Recheck and re-evaluation timeline
Apart from re-evaluation, students also have the option to appear for improvement/compartmental examinations. Candidates can improve marks in up to three subjects in the same year.
Registration for improvement exams will be open from May 8 to May 14, 2026.
The exams are scheduled to begin from June 15, and results are expected by the last week of July.
