India Foundation opens applications for IKS research roles under Ministry of Education project
India Foundation has invited applications for the positions of Research Associate and Research Assistant under an Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) research project supported by the Ministry of Education. The recruitment drive seeks candidates with a background in social sciences who are interested in contributing to research linked to Indian knowledge traditions, public policy and related academic fields.
According to the notification, one position each is available for Research Associate and Research Assistant. The selected candidates will be engaged in a research project supported by IKS and will work on a range of academic and project-related activities. Applications for both posts are open, with the deadline set for June 15, 2026, at 11:59 PM IST.
Roles and responsibilities under the project
The project is aimed at individuals with an interest in social science research, history, international relations, public policy and associated disciplines. Selected candidates will be involved in research activities including data collection, literature reviews, report preparation, stakeholder engagement and other assignments connected to the project.
The appointments will be made for a period of two years. Remuneration will be provided in accordance with IKS guidelines. India Foundation stated that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the interview process.
Preferred academic disciplines
Preference will be given to applicants from History, Political Science, International Relations and Sociology. Candidates from other social science disciplines may also apply if they meet the prescribed eligibility requirements.
Applicants are expected to possess a sound understanding of social science research methodologies. The notification also requires proficiency in MS Office applications, along with strong writing, communication and presentation skills. Candidates should be able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and demonstrate commitment to research objectives and project deliverables.

For the Research Associate position, candidates must hold a postgraduate degree in any social science discipline with at least 55% marks and have a minimum of one year of research experience. Preference will be given to applicants possessing NET, M.Phil. or Ph.D. qualifications.
