NEET UG 2026 refund process begins today at neet.nta.nic.in: Check how to submit your bank details
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will open the online portal today, May 21, 2026, for candidates to submit their bank account details to claim a refund of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 examination fee.
Candidates appearing for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will not have to pay any additional fee for the fresh exam, as informed earlier by the agency.
To complete the refund process, NTA will activate a dedicated portal on the official website, which is, neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates will have to log in and provide their valid bank account details to receive the refund of the examination fee paid earlier.
The NEET UG 2026 re-examination is being conducted after the cancellation of the earlier exam held on May 3 following allegations of a paper leak and other irregularities.
More than 22 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the re-test. The examination will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode on June 21, 2026, from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.
The NTA has also allowed candidates to update their present address and preferred examination city due to relocation or any change in address.
Candidates can make changes through the official website till May 21, 2026, up to 11:50 pm.
The agency has clarified that the examination centre allotted for the re-exam may be different from the previous centre depending on the updated city choices and availability of centres.
Important information for candidates
According to the FAQ released by NTA, candidates will not be allowed to change the medium of examination selected during the original application process.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, for the latest updates regarding the refund process, city preference update, admit card, and re-examination schedule.
