Students who appeared for the Class 8 annual examination conducted between February 17, 2026, and February 27, 2026, can download their provisional scorecards immediately after the announcement. The result will remain available in online mode using roll number or name-based access.
Steps to check result on official website
To access the result, students need to visit the official website at pseb.ac.in and navigate to the ‘Results’ section. After selecting the Class 8 result link, they must enter their roll number along with the captcha code. Upon submission, the scorecard will be displayed on the screen for download.
The roll number required for login is printed on the admit card issued before the examination. Students are advised to keep this document ready to avoid delays during result access.
Checking result by name and SMS facility
Students who do not have their roll numbers can use the name-wise search facility available through the alternative portal punjab.indiaresults.com. After entering their full name, a list of matching entries will appear, and students can identify their result using parental details.
In addition to online access, the board has also provided an SMS facility. Students can type PB8 followed by their roll number and send it to 5676750. The result will be delivered to their mobile phones shortly after the request is processed.
Details mentioned in scorecard
The online marksheet will include key details such as the student’s name, roll number, parents’ names, school name, district, category, and subject-wise marks. It will also display theory marks, internal assessment scores, total marks, grades, and qualifying status.
Students must note that the online result is provisional. The original marksheet will be issued by the respective schools after distribution by the board.
What students should do after result declaration
Students who pass the examination can proceed with admission to Class 9 either in their current school or another institution. It is important to collect and preserve the original marksheet for future academic use.
Those who fail in one or two subjects can apply for supplementary examinations through their schools. Students seeking re-evaluation must submit applications with the prescribed fee within the notified timeline after the result declaration.
