TN SSLC result 2026: The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, is set to announce the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Class 10 results for 2026 soon. The board exams, which began on March 10 and concluded on April 6, 2026, were conducted at centres across the state in offline, pen-and-paper mode. With over nine lakh students expected to have appeared, anticipation is building among students, parents, and educators alike.
The 2026 SSLC exams followed a structured timetable. These subjects include Tamil and other languages which were taken on the 11th of March; English on the 16th of March; mathematics on the 25th of March; science on the 30th of March; social science on the 2nd of April and optional languages on the 6th of April from 10:00 am to 1:15 pm.
Looking at the 2025 results, over 8.71 lakh students appeared for the SSLC exams, with 8,17,261 passing, producing a pass percentage of 93.8%, a 2.3 percentage point improvement over the previous year. The Sivagangai district secured the top position in the pass percentage category, securing 98.31%. Also, 4,917 schools managed to score 100% pass percentage. Science became the most popular subject among students who scored centum.
Females dominated their male counterparts in terms of performance in all subjects. According to the results of 2025, the pass percentage for girls was much higher at 95.88%, while for boys it was only 91.74%. The same situation was observed in mathematics and English, where girls scored two percentage points more than boys. At the district level, it is noteworthy that Trichy and Kanyakumari were the districts where the gap between genders was highest, exceeding three percentage points.
