Tyre shop owner’s daughter Shabreen Parveen becomes BSEB Class 10 joint topper, plans NEET next
Shabreen Parveen is among the joint toppers of the BSEB Class 10 examination 2026, scoring 492 out of 500 marks (98.4%). She shares Rank 1 with Pushpanjali Kumari, with both securing the highest marks in this year’s results declared by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).
The daughter of a tyre shop owner, Shabreen prepared using a combination of school classes and online resources. She did not enrol in offline coaching and instead relied on YouTube lectures for part of her preparation.
Speaking to ANI, Shabreen outlined how she divided her subjects between school and online study. “I studied Urdu, Maths and English from YouTube, while I studied Hindi, Science and Social Science at school,” she said.
She added that she did not enrol in offline coaching due to time constraints and instead relied on online lectures. “I did not take offline coaching due to lack of time, so I resorted to YouTube lectures,” she told ANI.
Shabreen also mentioned support from her family during the preparation period. Her brother, who teaches at an academy, assisted her with studies. “My brother helped me as well,” she said.
Her approach combined regular school attendance with the use of online lectures for select subjects, along with guidance at home.
Following the announcement of her Matric results, Shabreen says that she intends to pursue a career in medicine. “I want to be a doctor, and I will prepare for NEET,” she told ANI.
Her next academic steps will involve selecting the appropriate stream in higher secondary education and beginning preparation aligned with the NEET syllabus.

Out of 15,10,928 students who appeared for the examinations, 12,35,743 students passed successfully.
