UPSSSC ASO, ARO recruitment 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has extended the registration deadline for the Assistant Statistical Officer (ASO) and Assistant Research Officer (ARO) recruitment 2026 examination. Along with the extension, the commission has also increased the total number of vacancies from the earlier notified posts to 1,565.
According to the revised notification, candidates can now submit their online applications till May 15, 2026. The last date for fee payment and correction in the application form is May 22, 2026. The recruitment drive is being conducted for appointments across multiple departments of the Uttar Pradesh government.
The revised advertisement issued by the commission stated that additional posts have been included under several departments. The highest number of vacancies continues to be in the Economics and Statistics Division under the Planning Department. Several new vacancies have also been added in departments such as Industries and Enterprise Promotion, Agriculture, Medical and Health Services, Higher Education, Animal Husbandry, and Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited.
The total number of posts has now reached 1,565 after the inclusion of additional vacancies mentioned in the revised notification. Separate horizontal reservation details for persons with disabilities and other reserved categories have also been provided in the updated notice.
Candidates applying for the posts must possess a postgraduate degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, Commerce, Economics, or Statistics from a recognised university. The commission has also specified that applicants should have knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script.
In addition, applicants must have passed the Uttar Pradesh Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2024 to be eligible for the recruitment process. Preference may also be given to candidates holding a diploma in computer science or a recognised computer qualification.
As per the notification, candidates must be at least 21 years old and should not have crossed 40 years of age as of July 1, 2024. Age relaxation will be applicable for reserved category candidates according to Uttar Pradesh government norms.
The selection process will include a written examination followed by document verification. Final selection will be based on candidates’ performance and eligibility conditions mentioned in the official notification.
