THANE: Girls have outperformed boys from the Thane district in the Class 12th state board exam results for this year that were announced Wednesday morning, officials informed.


The overall pass percentage of students appearing for the HSC exams in the Thane district is 92.6%. As many as 95420 students had appeared for the exams of which 88431 cleared it.


Of the 50477 boys who appeared, 46296 passed taking the passing percentage to 91.7% while 42135 or 93.7% girls passed the exams of the total 44943 who appeared for it this year, Lalita Dahitule, education officer at the Thane Zilla Parishad informed.


The Kalyan rural belt reported the best passing percentage at 95.8% compared to the rest of the areas, said, officials.


The performance of students from colleges within Thane corporation limits was also impressive with few scoring cent per cent marks in some subjects. Vansh Jain from MH High school scored 100% in Mathematics while Asmita Patil from

BN Bandodkar College of Science

scored 100 out of 100 in Biology while Soha Joshi got 99 of 100 in Sanskrit while Dhruvi Patel from Commerce section studying in SVPT’s Saraswati Vidyalaya, Ghodbunder scored 91.3%;


Few schools from the city and suburbs including the Abdullah Patel English High School and Dar-Ul- Rehmat trust junior college, Mumbra clocked 100% pass percentage.
