The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has declared the Class 10 and Class 12 board examination results for 2026 at 4 pm from its headquarters in Prayagraj, ending the wait for more than 54 lakh students across the state. The results were announced through a press conference, during which the Board released pass percentages, topper details and other key examination statistics before activating result links online.

Results for both High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) were declared simultaneously, continuing the pattern followed in previous years. Students can now check their scores through the official website and DigiLocker, where digital marksheets have also been made available.

Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh had earlier said all preparations for result publication had been completed, with final technical verification undertaken to ensure a smooth declaration. The results were subsequently released as scheduled.

High School records 90.42 per cent pass rate, two students share top rank
The overall pass percentage in the UP Board Class 10 examination has been recorded at 90.42 per cent. The Board announced that Kashish Verma of Babu Ram Savitri Devi Inter College, Sitapur, and Anshika Verma of Modern Academy Inter College, Barabanki, jointly secured first place in the state.

Both toppers scored 97.83 per cent marks, emerging at the top of the High School merit list. Their names were announced during the result press conference along with statewide performance figures.

Intermediate pass percentage stands at 80.38 per cent
For the UP Board Intermediate examination, the overall pass percentage has been recorded at 80.38 per cent. The figure was announced as part of the official result data released by the Board.

Around 27.05 lakh students had appeared for the Class 12 examination this year. Students can now access individual scorecards and digital marksheets through the Board’s result portals and DigiLocker.

More than 54 lakh students appeared in examinations
This year, approximately 54.37 lakh students were registered for the UP Board examinations. Of these, around 27.32 lakh students appeared in Class 10 and 27.05 lakh in Class 12.

The examinations were conducted from February 18 to March 12, after which evaluation began on March 18 and concluded on April 4. The exercise involved nearly 1.53 lakh personnel, including around 83,800 examiners.

Technical upgrades introduced during evaluation
The Board also implemented technical upgrades this year through a pilot project in districts including Prayagraj, Meerut, Bareilly, Varanasi and Gorakhpur. Marks were uploaded through both conventional and online systems in an effort to improve transparency and efficiency.

Officials said the dual-system model was aimed at reducing errors and strengthening the evaluation and result preparation process.

Results released earlier than last year
The Board declared results two days earlier than last year, when the outcome was announced on April 25. The earlier release continues the trend of faster processing in recent years.

Students can check their results through the official UP Board website and DigiLocker using roll number credentials, while digital marksheets carrying authentication features have also been made available online.

Despite the scale of evaluation involving 96,803 examiners, the Board completed checking and result preparation on schedule. The process concluded within the April 4 deadline before technical verification and declaration.

Girls recorded an 86.32% pass rate in Intermediate, while boys stood at 75.04%, creating an 11.28 percentage-point gap. The performance difference is among the standout statistical trends in the Class 12 results.

The Class 12 practical examinations were conducted in two phases between January 24 and February 9. The staggered schedule covered practical assessments before the written examinations commenced in February.

Girls have recorded a pass percentage of 93.76% in the Class 10 examination, significantly above boys’ 87.30%. The figure places female candidates at the forefront of this year’s High School performance indicators.

Sitapur, Barabanki and Bareilly feature prominently in the toppers’ lists across both examinations. The distribution of top ranks across districts has become a notable pattern in this year’s UP Board results.

Government schools recorded an 83.17% pass percentage in Class 12, higher than aided institutions at 78.98%. The category-wise breakdown shows varied performance across institutional groups in the Intermediate examination.

Regular candidates in Class 10 achieved a pass percentage of 90.51%, compared to 66.67% for private candidates. The wide gap of 23.84 percentage points highlights a major difference in performance between the two categories this year.

The Board deployed around 1.53 lakh personnel for evaluation and result preparation, including more than 96,000 High School examiners and nearly 56,000 Intermediate examiners. The large-scale exercise contributed to timely declaration of results.

Shikha Verma topped the Intermediate examination with 97.60%, while no student crossed the 98% mark. The merit list remained closely packed, with the second and third ranks also featuring high but tightly clustered scores.

Across both examinations, over 43 lakh students have been declared successful. Class 10 recorded 2,352,181 successful candidates, while Class 12 registered 1,998,317 passes. The combined total underlines the scale of the state’s school examination system.

Aditi of Modern Academy Inter College, Barabanki, has secured second rank in the Class 10 examination with 97.50% marks, as announced in the official toppers list released by the Board.
