Joint chief electoral officer of Puducherry R T Rudra Goud on Saturday handed the cards with the EC's message to 30 postmen at the Head Post office .

Speaking to reporters, Goud said the drive was to ensure that voters in constituencies which registered low polling percentage in the last election turn up in overwhelming numbers.

The cards are also being sent to first time voters with an appeal to exercise their franchise, he added.

The cards also state that visually challenged voters can avail of the Braille voting system. Assistance will also be provided to orthopedically and physically challenged persons who cast their ballot.
