Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the picture is still evolving in each. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller-party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared and 105 leads still in progress, leaving them just 3 seats short of the majority mark on current tallies. SPA has a tally of 60 seats, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all of them leads. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house if those leads hold, sitting on a tally of 179, with 11 declared and 168 leads. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has crossed the majority mark of 16 in the 30-seat assembly on current tallies, with 13 seats won and 5 leads for a tally of 18. SPA has a tally of 5 in Puducherry, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala, UDF is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 71 in the 140-seat house if those leads hold, with 68 seats won and 19 leading for a tally of 87. LDF has 30 won and 6 leading for a tally of 36, trailing well behind.
