Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at a brisk pace. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared wins and 105 leads, sitting just 3 seats short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55 seats, all in leads. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house, with a tally of 179 that includes 11 won and 168 leading. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly, where 16 seats are needed for a majority, with 13 already declared wins and 5 leads, placing it well past the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA stands at a tally of 5 in Puducherry. In Kerala, UDF leads in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 71 in the 140-seat assembly, registering a tally of 87 with 68 won and 19 leading. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading, while independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively account for a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
