Gujarat elections 2022: At 50 km, PM Modi to lead ‘India’s longest city roadshow’ today
GANDHINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead a 50km roadshow in Ahmedabad on Thursday evening as part of the final lap of BJP’s campaign for a record seventh stint in government in Gujarat, coinciding with the close of voting in 89 seats that are going to polls in the first phase.
Billed as the country’s longest city roadshow, the PM’s march will begin at Naroda Gaam and culminate in Chandkheda around 9. 45pm, crossing along the way neighbourhoods in each of the assembly constituencies within municipal limits.
Modi’s packed schedule in the last two days leading to the end of campaigning on Saturday includes seven rallies. He will return to the state on December 5 to vote in the Ranip area of Ahmedabad.
The BJP brass, including Union home minister Amit Shah, national president J P Nadda and chief minister Bhupendra Patel, held roadshows in the city throughout Wednesday. Standing atop a truck, Shah travelled from the Mohan Cinema area till Kalapinagar in Ahmedabad’s Asarwa constituency. Nadda was in Nadiad while CM Patel toured Amraiwadi constituency.
