Many Karnataka leaders owe their careers to this former Chief Minister

Devaraj Urs, the former Chief Minister of Karnataka, is often hailed as a savior of the OBC community in the state, despite his Kshatriya heritage and aristocratic roots in Mysore. He was able to unite the OBCs, along with some Vokkaligas and oppressed Lingayats, and form a government through his exceptional political skills.
