Various Christian organisations took out rallies in Dimapur and other places in the state. They said they will happily welcome whoever wins the elections to join the special prayers for the peace and prosperity of Nagaland.

"After the counting of votes and declaration of results, the winning candidates are likely to visit the nearby churches. We can call the leaders and arrange special prayers, especially for good governance," Moses Murry, chairman of Christian Forum (Dimapur), said.

With nearly 89% of Nagaland's population being Christians and Baptists the most dominant group among them, the council hoped this election will be a defining moment for the Nagas. All eyes are on a solution to the the Naga issue. Chief minister Rio said the solution is on the cards this time, if he becomes the CM for a fifth term.
