HYDERABAD: Union home minister Amit Shah ruled out on Saturday any tactical or political alliance with BRS and assured that if BJP forms government in Telangana, corruption deeds will be investigated and those responsible will be sent to jail.
Shah claimed the people of Telangana are ready to send off the BRS government in the November 30 assembly polls and urged voters to exercise their franchise sensibly.
“I hope Telangana voters are well aware of our commitment to the state and take a decision. Your vote will not only decide the fate of a government but the future of Telangana and the country. I am appealing to you to vote only after analysing the performance of each party,” he said at a press conference.
Reacting to EC granting permission to the state government to disburse Rythu Bandhu amounts to farmers, Shah said: “We do not want any beneficiary to suffer. We always support welfare schemes and development works.”
Accusing the BRS government of indulging in corruption in the last 10 years, the BJP strongman said: “The investigation agencies will look into all corruption allegations against BRS by following rules and regulations and they cannot be tailor-made just because we have an election now.”
Asked if BJP and Congress are confined only to Telangana and Karnataka, Shah replied: “That’s a wrong notion. I am not here to talk about other political parties. We are focusing on all southern states, including Kerala.”
He charged BRS and Congress with engaging in “appeasement” and claimed BJP’s track record showed there were no communal riots wherever it had formed governments.
