NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday declared total assets of Rs 3.02 crore in his nomination papers, which he filed from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat.

According to the poll papers, PM Modi does not own a house or a car and has Rs 52,920 cash in hand. Additionally, he has 2.85 crore as bank deposits.

The Prime Minister's gold investment is Rs 2.67 lakh, held in the form of four gold rings.

PM Modi has invested Rs 9.12 lakh in National Savings Certificates. The investment in NSC has increased by nearly Rs 2 lakh from 7.61 lakh in 2019. He has no loan on his name. He has listed 'salary from government' and 'interest from bank' as his sources of income.

The Prime Minister has declared that he holds an MA degree from Gujarat University and that he graduated from Delhi University in 1978. PM passed the SSC exam from Gujarat board in 1967.

The PM has named Jashodaben as his wife. Her source of income in PM's poll paper is mentioned as 'not known'.

Her profession or occupation is also listed as 'not known'. PM Modi has declared that he neither has any criminal case pending against him nor has any government dues on him.


With much fanfare, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday filed his official nomination, seeking a third straight win from the Varanasi constituency.

The Prime Minister was accompanied on his nomination by the likes of Union home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president JP Nadda along with a big band of NDA leaders including SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar and dozen CMs of BJP and NDA states.

Leaders from NDA's top brass like LJP chief Chirag Paswan, Chandrababu Naidu, Jitan Ram Majhi, Pashupati Paswan were among other partners present at the PM's nomination in the collectorate.

The Prime Minster filed his nomination in the presence of four proposers. His two proposers including Acharya Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid, Baijnath Patel and CM Yogi Adityanath stayed with him when he filed papers. First proposer was Astrology scholar Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid, who decided Muhurt of Ram Janambhumi foundation laying and consecration of Ram Lalla, is proposer from City South assembly constituency. And the second proposer was Baijnath Patel from Sevapuri.

The PM Modi sought blessings at Kashi, took a holy dip in Ganga, offered rituals and Aarti at Dashaswamedh Ghat on the auspicious occasion of Ganga Saptami and boarded MV Swami Vivekanand Ro-Ro vessel to reach Namo Ghat and to Kaal Bhairav temple ahead of filing his nomination, which according to the Hindu mythology is believed to be essential to pay obeisance at the temple before proceeding for any work.
