‘Alliance will ensure ouster of chowkidar Modi, thokidar Yogi’
GORAKHPUR/GHAZIPUR: Training guns at CM Yogi Adityanath in his backyard Gorakhpur at a joint rally on Monday, alliance partners Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav said that their aim is not just to remove PM Narendra Modi but to ensure the ouster of Yogi from power in UP also.
“Humein chowkidar ko hi nahin, thokidar ko bhi hatana hai,” said SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, referring to Yogi’s policy of encounters to curb crime. BSP chief Mayawati said the alliance has become formidable and “Yogi ki phir math mein jaane ki taiyari shuru ho gayi hai.”
The attack on Yogi came even as the alliance continued to lash against PM. Mayawati said that Modi has been accusing Opposition of abusing him but should know that “a person is abused only when he does some wrong.”
Mayawati again accused Modi of trying to win votes of by claiming to be a backward. “He claims to be an OBC and says he is poor and a fakir. He has started saying that BSP and SP are asking his caste but the reality is that we have only spoken about his actual caste,” she said and predicted that bure din will start for Modi after May 23.
“BJP has been trying to split our alliance by creating confusion, but our alliance will unseat Yogi also.”
Yadav, who has been at the receiving end of Yogi’s barbs that taps were missing when he vacated his bungalow, was sharp in his criticism of the CM.
“He (Yogi) got the CM’s residence washed with Ganga jal when he moved in. After I vacated the house, he got the taps removed. When you (Yogi) will not be in power, the same officials will go to the house and conduct a search till they find all chillums,” Yadav said. Blaming Yogi for the stray cattle menace, he said that many people had died due to it on roads. “If cattle kill people, who should the FIR be against? It is the responsibility of government and if inquiry is conducted, the CM will be held guilty,” he said.
