Azam Khan’s jibe at Jaya Prada: Dimple Yadav calls it ‘chhoti baat’
LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Dimple Yadav on Wednesday termed senior party leader Azam Khan’s
matters) and urged media to focus on and raise bigger issues like the historic welfare schemes for women that were started by erstwhile Akhilesh Yadav government in UP.
Dimple was present at the SP press conference to announce Poonam Sinha’s candidature from Lucknow when mediapersons sought her response on Azam’s statement against Jaya.
“Mahilaon ke khilaaf kisi bhi tarah ki tippani jo hoti hai, yeh theek baat nahi hai (Comments are made against women, this is not good),” she said and accused the media of not showing the same zeal in reporting and highlighting incidents when BJP leaders make such comments.
Citing the incident when BJP leader Dayashankar Singh had made objectionable comments against BSP supremo Mayawati, Dimple complained that media did not focus on it the way it was highlighting Azam issue now. “.… Tab media walon ne itna badha chadha ke baat kyon nahi uthayee thi .… (Why didn’t the media raise the issue in this manner then),” she said.

No buzz in media when PGV & I were targeted: Dimple
The incumbent Kannauj MP further cokmplained that media also did not raise the issue when comments were made against herself and Priyanka Gandhi and they are highlighted only when a BJP candidate is at the receiving end.
Dimple instead asked the media to popularise the historic welfare schemes launched by Akhilesh Yadav government like women powerline and other projects which no other state has launched so far.
“… Aur in chhoti chhoti baaton mein padne ki koi zaroorat nahi hai (And there is no need to get into such trivial issues)” Dimple sermonised amid applause from party workers present at the venue. Akhilesh also joined Dimple in lambasting the BJP and alleged that the party specialised in diverting attention of people from real issues. Sinha, who was also present, however, evaded the query
