Arpan Basak announces cinematic music project exploring social themes

Filmmaker Arpan Basak is set to release a new cinematic music video titled LOTUS, a socially reflective project that blends visual storytelling with contemporary themes of collective consciousness and political awareness.
The project features television actress Sreyasri Roy and actor Soumalya Biswas, with vocals by singer Sayani Palit, whose performance forms a key emotional layer of the piece.
According to Arpan, LOTUS moves beyond the format of a conventional music video and incorporates narrative elements that engage with themes such as justice, fear and evolving social perspectives. The visual treatment relies on symbolic imagery and layered metaphors to convey its message.

Arpan, who has previously worked across digital storytelling formats and music-based visual projects, continues his exploration of cinematic narratives through this latest release.
The project aims to combine music and film language to present a reflective commentary on contemporary society, using an interpretative rather than literal approach to storytelling.
LOTUS is expected to be released later this year.
