Kabuliwala (1957)

Based on Rabindranath Tagore’s story, Kabuliwala remains a poignant tale of love beyond borders. The film followed the bond between a little girl and an Afghan merchant far from home. Balraj Sahni’s deeply emotional performance made it iconic, reflecting humanity’s universal longing for connection and the innocence of childhood friendships.

Dahan (1997)

Dahan told the story of courage in the face of social injustice. Inspired by a real-life incident, the film explored sexual harassment and the silence surrounding it.
