The shooting of Rituparna Sengupta's next film ‘Datta’ directed by debutant Nirmal Chakravarty, is likely to start by the end of this year. Rituparna too is planning to return from

Singapore

around that time. The actress told us that she can return to India as soon as her project starts. The shooting of the film got stalled due to the

pandemic

outbreak.

"Datta is one of my most favourite stories and projects. We have been trying to complete the shoot, but we could not because of a lot of hurdles and I think, while trying to do something good, hurdles are inevitable," Rituparna said.

This is not the first time the film got stalled. Last year, the shoot had to be stalled when the director finally decided to replace the Bangladeshi actor Ferdous Ahmed. "We are waiting for the situation to become normal again. Let’s see," Nirmal added.

According to the director, even though TV shoots are taking place in the present situation, shooting a film is a different ball game altogether. "It needs more than 35 people on the sets and it cannot be done in a hurry. Besides, it is a periodic film, which needs proper sets and costume," he said.
