Ek Je Chhilo Raja

’ will see Jaya Ahsan as the king Mahendra Chowdhury’s elder sister. While it’s quite challenging to play such a complicated character, Jaya Ahsan enjoyed another role during the shoot. While sharing some of the behind-the-scene secrets of his upcoming period drama, director Srijit Mukherji himself has revealed that the Bangladeshi actress efficiently served the role of an accent coach for her co-actors. Jaya apparently helped everyone to correct the dialect of Bhawal.

Srijit also praised Jaya Ahsan about her commitment and eagerness to be a part of such an epic journey. “As soon as we planned the movie, I reached out to Jaya and she helped me a lot with the research work. She is not only a great actor, but also a key part of the film crew. She has a lot of emotions attached to the film’s story. She explored the Gazipur, Pubail area and even Bhawal Gor to find out some almost forgotten information for Ek Je Chhilo Raja’s storyline,” revealed an excited Srijit.

Featuring Jisshu Sengupta in the titular role, ‘Ek Je Chilo Raja’ is a period drama based on ‘A Princely Imposter’ by Partha Chatterjee.

Srijit also spilt the beans on how differently he has portrayed the Bhawal sanyasi: “It’s a gripping thriller and I believe it’s perhaps my best work this year. A shocking series of real-life incidents make this film’s story more mysterious and I have largely focused on the famous court case. It’s a period courtroom drama that will certainly thrill the audience till the end.”
