Bhalobashar Shohor
’ is a Bengali anthology of four short films based on love, today. The four individual films namely – ‘Arshinagar’, ‘Pori’, ‘Kolkatar Kobitara’ and ‘Paramount’ are sown together with one running theme – The City of Joy, Kolkata. The stories beautifully encapsulate Kolkata and treat it as a character which lends to the narrative of the story.
The anthology has an ensemble cast including
Chandan Roy Sanyal, Gourav Chakroborty, Riddhima Ghosh, Isha Saha, Tanushree Chakraborty, Rahul Banerjee,
Gourab Chatterjee, Sourav Das and Payal Sarkar in the lead.
The first story ‘Arshinagar’ is directed by Chandrashis Roy and it’s a story of rekindled romance between an estranged couple. The awkwardness in their relationship gives way to a bond based on trust and joy.
The second one ‘Pori’, directed by Aritra Sen and Rohan Ghose, is a tale of faith and unconditional love with so much power that it changes fate. A feeling so strong that can make dreams come true.
The third film ‘Kolkatar Kobitara’, directed by Abhijit Guha and
Sudeshna Roy, is an unconventional story of breaking stereotypes and accepting love sans any pre-conceived notions and inhibitions.
Meanwhile, the last film ‘Paramount’, directed by Abhijit Chowdhury, is a heart wrenching saga on how love triumphs irrespective of the challenges which come their way.
‘Bhalobashar Shohor’ is produced by
Parambrata Chatterjee’s house Roadshow Films Pvt. Ltd. and the actor-director is ‘Bhalobashar Shohor’ is an ode to Kolkata. “All the four stories have a heartbeat and we are humbled by all the appreciation and love the film has received,” said Parambrata.
