has already started shooting for his film ‘
#Homecoming
’ in and around Kolkata. The slice-of-a-life drama has an ensemble cast from both Bollywood and Tollywood.

Tuhina Das and Sourav Shubhra among others will be seen in pivotal roles.
The film revolves around a theatre group, formed by a generation of artistically inclined high school-college outlaws, who eventually pioneered the “failed” Calcutta (Kolkata) youth-theatre movement, reunite for the first time after seven years on an eventful Durga Puja night at their old rehearsal space. It is in the danger of being sold off and converted into Kolkata’s first five-star hotel by the Ganges where revisiting the past again leads to the promises of a collective future in this coming-of-age love letter to Kolkata.
Soumyajit says it’s an “episodic cinema”— dividing the 3-act structure of a feature film screenplay into 10 episodes (five before and five after the interval).
If all goes according to plan, the film will be released later this year.
